The site for people who work for themselves, built so the person searching right now actually finds you

CODEPRESS builds showcase sites for sole traders and small businesses: from €400, live in two to three weeks, with the domain and accounts in your name. A static site rather than WordPress, so it is fast from day one, with structured data, Search Console and Google Business Profile configured on handover. Technical maintenance costs €100 a year and is optional. No e-commerce.

What a showcase site is for

Anyone looking for a professional or a local business searches the name on Google first, and what they find decides whether they call. A social media page is not enough: it doesn't surface when somebody searches for the service rather than the name, it isn't yours, and it changes shape whenever the platform decides to change it.

"Showcase" here means a precise scope: four to six pages saying who you are, what you do, where you are and how to reach you, plus a contact form that works. Not a management system, not an online shop, not a site that asks you to become a part-time editor. The value isn't in the number of pages: it's that the few there are get written for the questions your customers actually ask, and that search engines can read them.

What the showcase site covers

  • Structure and copy written together

It starts with a meeting where you tell us what you do and who for. Out of that come the pages you actually need and the copy, written in the words your customers search with, not the ones you use on an invoice.

  • A static site, not WordPress

Pages are generated once and served ready-made: they open in a fraction of a second even on a phone on a slow connection, with no admin panel to keep updated and no plugin that becomes somebody's way in eight months from now.

  • Structured data and presence on the map

Name, address, opening hours, phone number and services are written in a format Google reads as data, not just as text: that's what feeds the panel beside the results and the pin on the map. Business Profile is set up and linked to the site.

  • Optimised for search engines and AI assistants

Pages are built to be extracted and quoted: headings that match real questions, answers that still make sense outside the page, consistent structured data. It's the approach we use on codepress.it, and it counts for Google as much as for ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.

How it gets from meeting to live

  1. The first meeting

An hour to understand what you do, who your customers are and the words they search with. Out of it come the list of pages and the final quote, which doesn't move after that.

  2. Copy and materials

We write the copy from the meeting; you supply logo and photographs if you have them, and we optimise them for the web. If they don't exist we say so straight away, because bad photographs cost more than they return.

  3. A first version to review

The site goes up at a temporary address where you can look at it on a phone and on a computer and ask for corrections. One round of revisions is included.

  4. Going live and verification

Publication on the final domain, Search Console and Business Profile set up, and a check that the pages are genuinely indexed. On handover you get every account.

What you receive

  • The site live on your own domain, with HTTPS active, readable on a phone as well as a computer
  • The page copy, written around what your customers really search for rather than a generic description of your services
  • The structured data that feeds your Google listing and the answers AI assistants give
  • Search Console and Business Profile configured, with indexing verified before handover
  • The domain and Google accounts in your name: the site stays yours if you change supplier tomorrow

When a showcase site isn't for you

  • You need to sell online: basket, payments, stock and shipping make an e-commerce site, not a showcase, and no amount of money adds them here.
  • You need a private area where customers log in with a password: that's a web application, and it belongs with the feature development package.
  • You want to update the content yourself every week, with a blog or a catalogue that keeps changing: here updates go through us, and that's why the site is cheap and doesn't break.
  • You're looking for someone to guarantee the top spot on Google by a given date: nobody can guarantee that, and anyone promising it is selling you something else.

What it costs, and what the maintenance covers

It starts at €400 for the whole project, from the first meeting to going live. What pushes the figure up is the number of pages, how much copy has to be written from scratch, and whether usable materials exist: turning up with a logo and workable photographs keeps you near the floor. The quote closes after the first meeting.

Maintenance costs €100 a year and is optional: hosting, technical and security updates, backups. The domain is excluded and stays in your name, around €15 a year paid to the registrar: that's why, if you decide to leave one day, you take the site with you without asking anyone's permission. Content changes and ongoing search work are quoted separately.

Frequently asked questions about the showcase site

How much does a professional showcase site cost?
From €400 for the whole project, from the first meeting to going live. The figure rises with the number of pages and with how much copy has to be written from scratch: the final quote closes after the first meeting and doesn't move after that. Technical maintenance is separate, costs €100 a year, and is optional.
Do you guarantee the first page on Google?
No, and be wary of anyone who does: ranking depends partly on how many competitors you have and how hard they work on their own sites, which no supplier controls. What we do, and what you can check yourself, are the technical factors that are ours to get right: a static site that loads in a fraction of a second, correct structured data, pages written around what customers really search for, Search Console and Business Profile configured, indexing verified.
What does the €100 a year cover?
Hosting, technical and security updates, backups: the part that keeps the site online and healthy. It doesn't cover the domain, which stays in your name and costs around €15 a year paid to the registrar, nor content changes, which are quoted when you need them. It's optional: if you'd rather host the site elsewhere we hand over the files, and static pages run anywhere.
Can I edit the copy myself?
There's no admin panel, and that's a choice: a panel means a system to keep updated, plugins that age and one more surface to attack, which is what makes most sites in this bracket fragile. We make changes on request, quoted separately. If you need to update content every week this package isn't the right one, and we'll tell you before you buy it.
How long does it take to go live?
Two to three weeks from the first meeting, when materials arrive on time. What stretches the timeline is almost never technical: it's the photographs and the information you have to dig out. One round of revisions is included, and it fits inside the three weeks.
